Description

The Intelsat Earth Station in Paumalu, on the island of Oahu, was built in the 1960s and was in need of renovation to update its technological facilities. Benjamin Woo Architects designed a comprehensive overhaul for more than half of the station’s control building.

The renovated facility includes a control data center, offices, and new infrastructure to support up to three 13-meter satellite dishes for Inmarsat, a global mobile satellite provider. The project was designed and completed on schedule to coincide with a satellite launch in April 2007.
